Do you need an app to track change history in solution articles? We got you. Version History - Solution Articles is a Freshservice app that tracks solution articles' version or change history. This version history can be used for auditing purpose and tracking changes. Key Features of this app include: - Tracking and storing of version history changes in solution articles - Easy access to the change history of each article - Global sidebar app for quick tracking of updates Version History - Solution Articles app has two parts. Global Sidebar app: A simple popup where you can enter the URL of an article after updating it each time. This will save the new version of the articles and calculate the diff between previous versions. Full-page app: This section displays the list of the solution articles, that have a change history. Clicking on each article will open a full-screen modal with the change history recorded and highlighting the diffs in red (deleted words) and green (added words) colors. You can scroll through the entire history of the articles. Fields: The changes in the below fields are recorded: - Title - Content - Agent who made the change - Modified time - Tags - Keywords - Review date - Number of attachments Important: During first use, you need to enter the URL of the articles you want to maintain a history for into the sidebar and click the update button. After each update or change you want to record, you need to paste the URL of the changed article into the Global sidebar app and click the update button. If this manual update is not done, the change won't be recorded.
- Navigate to the Freshservice Admin dashboard. - Go to `Admin` > `Automation & Productivity` > `Apps`. - Search for `Version History - Solution Articles` and click Install. - In the Next window, enter your `API Key` and `Domain name`. - Click `Install` and your app is installed.
