How AI agents can deliver value, not hype
Strategic planning and architecture are crucial, says Freshworks CTO
The emergence of agentic AI and AI agents in 2024 has so far generated a lot more hype than quantifiable results or ROI. This year, companies are challenged to put AI agents into practice—at scale—to drive results.
In a new InformationWeek report on agentic AI, Freshworks CTO Murali Swaminathan explains how business leaders should approach the challenge:
“Enterprises must establish clear approaches on what workflows or problems they want the agentic systems to solve,” says Swaminathan. “Additionally, it’s critical that they develop a clear plan on how they will gauge success. This approach will ensure that expectations are measured, and that a strategy of ‘progress over perfection’ is employed.”
That kind of strategic planning, Swaminathan adds, is crucial.
“Create a clear game plan on how to implement, utilize, and measure the success of agentic architectures,” he says. “Failing to plan is planning to fail."
